Why People are Moving To Los Angeles
There is a reason why thousands of people are moving to the city of Los Angeles and calling it home. People love the weather, night life and feel right home with the city’s large diverse ethnic population. Compared to the rest of the country, Los Angeles real estate values are on their way up and climbing fast. So, lets review what Los Angeles has to offer in general. Also, feel Free to watch the Los Angeles City guide video which will take you on a quick tour.
With millions of residents, Los Angeles and its surrounding incorporated cities is distinctive in American culture, and the city offers a lifestyle like nowhere else on the planet. It has a rich history and called the land of celebrities and Hollywood movies. Los Angeles is surrounded by decades-old communities and residents who love southern California and would never consider living anywhere else.
Tiny communities within this sprawling metropolis offer a family-friendly lifestyle and are easy to mistake for the safe, serene neighborhoods of middle-America; however, the popularity of adobe and Spanish architecture does create a unique look.
Entertainment and Recreation
One of the features of the area is the ability to sit on the beach in the morning and hit the ski slopes in the afternoon. The Pacific coastline along Los Angeles County offers well-known venues like the Santa Monica Pier, Malibu, and Venice Beach. Additionally, anyone with a pair of skis (or a snowboard!) can head inland just a few hours and hit the powder at Big Bear.
Despite the reputation residents have for an overwhelming automobile affinity (and traffic to go with it) Los Angeles residents love the outdoors, and there isn’t a month of the year where the weather isn’t fantastic. The city provides many bike lanes for its riders, and there are parks scattered all around town that offer sports fields, swimming pools, picnic opportunities and hiking. Cyclists can travel the entire 75 miles of beautiful coastline in Los Angeles County.
Environment and Weather
Fans of Los Angeles aren’t exaggerating when they talk about how perfect Los Angeles weather is all year long. Average high temperatures in the winter hover around the upper 60s, and the summer heat usually hits the mid-80s. Residents inland will experience a greater difference in average temperatures, but it’s possible to wear shorts and a t-shirt all year long.
Sometimes the winds start to blow with weather activity called the "Santa Ana winds," which are strong winds that head across the county toward the ocean and increase temperatures all over. When the Santa Ana winds are quiet, the county enjoys the relatively cool breezes of the Pacific, which is a rather cold body of water along the North American coastline.
Healthcare and Education
Los Angeles possesses a sprawling and complex school system as well as health care facilities engaged in groundbreaking medical research. In the Greater Los Angeles Area (which includes the neighboring counties of Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange, and Ventura), there are at least 700,000 people working at various health care facilities like the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
There are a few school districts at work within Los Angeles County, and the high population of the area requires significant investment. The state recently passed a measure aimed at giving the district a funding boost, and city educators have been meeting to discuss whether to increase the school year to 200 days to ensure students benefit from consistency of instruction.
The City of Los Angeles encompasses 472 square miles of truly unique neighborhoods, sunny California attitudes, and a million ways to work and have fun. Living in southern California is a dream come true and offers a chance to start a new business, get a new job, and live the envious life of a Los Angelino.
